Rewind...
About a week and a half ago I had an appointment to try on and pick up my dress (which had just come in a few days before). As I was standing in front of the mirror checking out the back of the dress I noticed that the buttons ended at the hip level. I thought, "Hmmmm, that's odd. Aren't they supposed to go all the way down to the end of the train?" I asked the lady helping me but she wasn't sure and had to go look at my file. While she was doing that, the lady that sold me the dress happened to walk by my fitting room. We chatted a bit and I asked her about the buttons. She couldn't remember and had to look for the dress on the floor to check. Sure enough, they were supposed to be there. She said she'll see if the dress needs to be overnighted to NY so they can sew them on there or if they'll just send the buttons and Hannelore's alterations department will do it themselves.
Anyways, the buttons ended up being shipped to the store and are now sewed on. The dress is ready to be picked up but I'm still debating if I should have the store or my seamstress do the alterations. I've heard lots of brides in Jean's store complain about the horrible experiences they've had with store alterations (and that's why they have Jean fix it). The dress is loose (I hope that's a sign that I've lost some weight!) and it's also too long (surprise, surprise) so there's quite a bit that needs to be done. Oh well, I'll figure it out later. I'll probably have Jean do it since she's doing all the other dresses and she's conveniently located near my work. Oh, dear Lord, please let it turn out okay.
